Tokyo Joke

Strange Fruit

Some time back in what seems like the long distant past, before we were all locked up, I wrote about the time we toured Japan and Korea. Watching Tokyo Vice recently, a truely superb Gangster series, brought it all back. The low rise hustle and bustle, the food and the studied politeness and formality of the people, that makes us Westerners feel so gauche.

And I wrote about the extraordinary night I discovered a forgotten song I wrote in the 80s had become an underground hit over there, known by everyone.

If you want more background the original post is HERE

Our last show in Japan was an acoustic set in a tiny but wonderful bar called Poor Cow where we had a go at learning and playing this abandoned blast from the past, that everyone in this corner of Asia wanted to hear.

Luckily our lovely merch seller, Antje Jank was on hand to record it. Hope you enjoy the song as much as they did.
